WhatsApp expanded the maximum number of group members to 512, Earlier this year — and is now testing a feature where users leaving a discussion in bulk won’t overwhelm other members with notifications.
This change is reflected in the group leave warning that WABetaInfo enthusiasts found in the WhatsApp Desktop beta. It warns that if you leave the group, only administrators will receive the system notification.
WABetaInfo also reminds that the screenshot was taken in a beta version of WhatsApp, so the feature may change by the time of release. Although it is currently being tested on the desktop version, it is planned to be released in the standard messenger apps for iOS and Android.
In addition, some of the features tested in beta mode are abandoned by application developers at all – although it is unlikely that this useful feature will be among them.
